So why does my bird need a heated bird perch you may ask?

Well as you know, exotic parrots hate the cold, and the heated perch can counter the effects of air conditioning and cold drafts that can actually make your bird sick. A heated bird perch is especially useful in colder parts of the world. It is a perfect way for your bird to dry off after his bath.

It is also a great idea to have a heated thermo perch or a bird heater handy in case one of your birds gets sick.

It’s unique shape prevents foot cramps and pressure sores and provides orthopedic benefits for your feathered friend. The perches come in three thicknesses to suit any sized parrot, and they are made with hard durable plastic that the parrot won’t be able to chew through.

It uses 3.5 watts or 12  vaults of electricity so it is considered to be safe. Just make sure to keep the cord well away from nibbling beaks. I would try wrapping the cord in tape to protect it further just in case.

As tempting as it may be, do not wrap these perches in anything. That can lend to over-heating or even a possible fire. They are hardy so most birds won’t damage them.
